International Diamond Jewellery Competition
Tomoko Kodera became the first Japanese designer to win the 1st prize at the competition.
I saw a man in the middle of a city,
he was wearing a coat which had several ricehusks stuck to it.
I wondered how that was.
Where did he come from? Rice husks are seen
only around rice fields.
At that moment
my mind began to tell an imaginary story;
the smell of the rice harvest, the sound of the husker,
the aroma of cooked rice wafting from a grandmother's kitchen,
the shiny surface of cooked rice, and a dinner table surrounded
by family members.
When you wear this jewelry or see
someone wearing it, you will find the
doors of your imagination opening one by one.
